<![CDATA[Too Dark To See]]>Sat, 12 May 2012 10:58:11 -0500http://cosmicveil.com/1/post/2012/05/too-dark-to-see.html I have maintained for some time now that dark matter—that mysterious, invisible substance that is allegedly so massive (in the scientific sense of the word) that it generates nearly 90% of the gravity in the universe but yet is not detectable by any known means—does not really exist. The supergeometric model in Behind the Cosmic Veil indicates that the bending of space responsible for gravity is a cause for mass, not an effect of mass, or in other words, it is the bending of space that generates mass, rather than the conventional view that mass generates the bending of space. This bending is ‘nonlocal’ in that its cause originates from outside and above four-dimensional space-time. While the conventional view of physics is one of pure materialism (i.e., that every physical observation has an equally physical cause), supergeometric theory proposes that the universe comprises both physical and superphysical components. The concept of superphysically-caused spatial bending that results in the formation of mass eliminates the need for a graviton, dark matter and dark energy, and the hypothetical mass-inducing field of the Higgs boson, and in doing so offers an explanation why we’ve never been able to confirm the existence of these things. It also explains why we observe more spatial bending in the universe than there is mass to account for it. I have sometimes been criticized for taking this seemingly outrageous and radical stance against virtually the whole of established physics.

I came upon a recently published article reporting that a new study of the solar system by astrophysicists failed to find any evidence for dark matter in our cosmic vicinity in spite of its existence having been predicted by prevailing scientific theory. To quote the article:

"The amount of mass that we derive matches very well with what we see — stars, dust and gas — in the region around the sun," [astronomer] Moni Bidin said. "But this leaves no room for the extra material — dark matter — that we were expecting. Our calculations show that it should have shown up very clearly in our measurements. But it was just not there!"

“Despite the new results, the Milky Way certainly rotates much faster than the visible matter alone can account for, so if dark matter is not present where we expected it, a new solution for the missing mass problem must be found,” Moni Bidin said. (This inexplicable acceleration relates in my theory to the rapid expansion of the very early universe, another anomaly for which astrophysicists can find no material explanation)

Another theory that seeks to solve the dark matter issue by offering and alternative but equally materialistic solution to this gravitational anomaly also appears to have been discredited by the study:

One alternative to dark matter is known as Modified Newtonian Dynamics, or MOND, which tweaks how gravity works at large scales to help explain the motions of stars and galaxies that researchers observe. However, "to my knowledge, MOND also would have expected a massive 'phantom disk' to appear in our study, so our results should contradict its expectations, too," Moni Bidin said.

It has long been my position that the reason why a number of known anomalous observations have continually frustrated physicists’ efforts to detect within them a material explanation is that the actual cause for these observations resides outside the material, physical realm of dimensional time and space.

Could it be that this brash heretic, who dares to challenge certain positions of conventional physics with the forbidden subjects of the paranormal and the supernatural, or even (yikes!) Biblical thought, might actually be onto something? Time will tell.

<![CDATA[More on Evolution]]>Sun, 06 May 2012 10:43:46 -0500http://cosmicveil.com/1/post/2012/05/more-on-evolution.html The subject of last week’s blog post often elicits comments from the Christian community, of which most of you know I am a member. The continuing controversy between creationism or intelligent design and evolution makes this a sensitive and often contentious topic. Supporters of ‘pure’ creationism sometimes even dispute over the somewhat more flexible concept of intelligent design as a faithless compromise of the literal Biblical message.

The relevance of Biblical principles to my work, as well as my addressing some of the issues with both evolution and creationism places me squarely in the middle of this conflict. I’ve been labeled as a ‘Darwinist’ by some and a believer in pseudoscience by others. Thankfully, most consider my position to be at least reasonable, even by those who might not fully agree.

Those familiar with my work know I support neither creationism nor evolution in their purest ‘fundamentalist’ forms. Evolution is a statement begun in mid-sentence—the second half sounds fine, but lacking the first, it remains an incomplete thought. There’s more to the appearance and progression of life than pure Darwinism can explain. And while intelligent design speaks to the existence of a Creator, fundamental creationism is more specific in that it proposes a literal interpretation of certain Biblical passages.

Central to certain fundamentalist views is the belief that the heavens, earth and all life were created in six literal 24-hour days as it appears to state in Genesis. The problem here is that the Bible contains many numerical sums and time periods that are clearly symbolic in nature. Many folks are not aware of how integral mystical numerology was to the ancient Jewish worldview. Because this is so foreign to our modern mindset, it’s easy to overlook when reading. There are many examples. Jesus chose 12 disciples to mirror the 12 tribes of Israel. He talked of forgiving 7 x 70 because Jewish numerology held the number 7 as ultimate perfection. The Anti-Christ symbol of 666 reflects the numerological belief that the number 6 represents ultimate imperfection, which is then expressed three times as a form of anti-trinity. In ancient times, the number 1000 was often used in common speech to represent a quantity too large to count, and so was a rough equivalent to our own colloquial use of a word like “ga-jillion” to express the same idea. The 144,000 mentioned in Revelation is far more likely to have been a symbolic image in John’s divine vision based on the 12 tribes of Israel x 12 Apostles x the very large number of 1000 = 144,000 rather than a precise, literal number. Other examples are the 7000 men in 1 Kings (7 x 1000) who had not bowed their knees to Baal, or the seven Asian churches in Revelation (we know historically there were more in this Roman province at the time of it’s writing around 100 A.D.).

Look at the often-quoted passage, “For a 1000 years in your [God’s] sight is but as yesterday, or as a watch in the night.” A fundamentalist literal interpretation combines this with the Genesis account into a literal formula of 1000 years x 6 days of creation = earth is 6000 years old. Forget for a moment that this in direct conflict with the other notion that the six days of creation are literal 24-hour days. What is consistently ignored is the last part of this passage, “…or as a watch in the night.” A watch was a sentry period of 4 hours, which would make our formula now equal 36,000 years. Since the psalmist is presenting two very different values in the same sentence for a day of God, the intent is clearly a symbolic, metaphorical representation that God’s time is far different than earth time.

The point is that there is more than enough justification from the Bible itself for any Christian of good conscience to interpret the days of creation metaphorically as perhaps referring to very long periods of time if he or she so chooses without compromising the basic Christian message of faith or without being apostate, heretical, corrupted and so on, as a few hard-liners accuse. The same accusations were hurled against Galileo, whose findings contradicted a number of Biblical passages that when interpreted literally indicated an earth-centered solar system. I find it interesting that those who I have encountered that champion such Biblical literalism never want to talk about Galileo, and when asked direct questions about that incident, always ignore them and instead divert the conversation elsewhere.

<![CDATA[Darwin Takes Another Hit for The Team]]>Thu, 26 Apr 2012 18:11:46 -0500http://cosmicveil.com/1/post/2012/04/darwin-takes-another-hit-for-the-team.html Researchers at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom report that their findings discredit the conclusions of Charles Darwin in his 1872 book The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals. Darwin maintained that there were six basic emotions expressed by the predecessors of man and reflected in corresponding facial expressions. These expressions were still universal in our species and were inherited from our ancestors. The research revealed that both facial expressions and their meanings varied from culture to culture. These six basic expressions, while recognizable to most descendents of Western culture, were interpreted quite differently by those of East Asian descent http://news.sciencemag.org/sciencenow/2012/04/unhappiness-is-in-the-eye-of-the.html?ref=hp.

This error is reminiscent of the criticisms made by Alfred Russell Wallace, who independently discovered the concept of evolution around the same time as Darwin. Wallace maintained that some of Darwin’s conclusions concerning man were fundamentally flawed because his more famous counterpart had not spent any time among primitive peoples to observe them closely as did Wallace. Wallace felt that, especially when it came to man’s intellect, this lack of human observations caused Darwin to make a number of faulty assumptions.

Those who have read BTCV know my personal opinion on the subject: however impressive the theory of evolution is, scientists try to assume too much from it, and attempt to extend its concepts farther than the available evidence can justify. Aside from the problems in a number of its details, evolution falls short on two major issues. First, it does not have an expression for how life “evolved” from inanimate matter—any accurate model of a process must have as its beginning statement an accurate description of the initial state of that process. Second, it fails as a scientific theory because it does not make testable predictions. If it did, evolution would be able to predict how a given creature might look one million years from now, or be able to predict what a present day creature would look like from studying its million-year-old fossilized remains alone (no fair peaking at the finished creature of today!). Nor does it predict well into the past—how many times do we hear of a new fossil discovery where the experts exclaim “we never expected to see these features in this creature” or “we never expected to find such a creature in that location,” let alone “we never expected to find this creature at all?”

I believe that when it comes to explaining the rise and progression of life, evolution is an incomplete picture. The fossil record does not reflect the cause, but only the effect of a much deeper process for which evolution has no expression. Something very fundamental is still lacking. That, to me, is the true missing link.

<![CDATA[Special Announcement]]>Wed, 25 Apr 2012 19:16:16 -0500http://cosmicveil.com/1/post/2012/04/special-announcement1.html I received a surprise call from Kevin Smith of the Kevin Smith Show to appear as his guest tomorrow night, April 26 at 10:00 PM Eastern. As you may know, the Kevin Smith Show is one of the foremost programs in alternative radio having a very large audience both here and abroad, and so it is quite an honor to be invited back. If you heard my first interview with him back on December 21, you’ll recall that Kevin actually turned off his customary second-hour call-in lines to allow me to continue to present my work uninterrupted! However, he assured me that the call-in hour will definitely be open, and so you are invited to join in and participate. Catch the live show at http://kevinsmithshow.com/.

<![CDATA[Interviews for The Week]]>Tue, 24 Apr 2012 17:58:42 -0500http://cosmicveil.com/1/post/2012/04/interviews-for-the-week7.html Join me with host Leilani Schmidt on her Universal Spiritual Connections Radio Show on Tuesday, 4/24 at 9:00pm Eastern at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/usc-radio-productions-1.

My next interview installment with GeorgeAnn Hughes of The Byte Show will be posted sometime Friday evening, 4/27. Find it at my page on her site, http://www.thebyteshow.com/ThomasPFusco.html.

I will be appearing Ghost Raps Radio Show with Big Ray and KB on Friday, 4/27 at 10:00pm Eastern. The show is broadcast live in the Richmond/Ashland, Virginia area on terrestrial radio stations 102.9 FM and 1430 AM, and is simulcast on the web at http://www.ghostraps.com/.

I also wanted to apologize for two recently scheduled shows that turned our to be 'no-shows'. These were the the PIR Radio interview with Kurt Smith scheduled for 4/15, and Fired Up! Radio with Steven Raebel scheduled for 4/21. In both instances, the host never called, and the broadcast apparently never took place (with or without me). My subsequent emails to both shows have gone unanswered. Fortunately, these were only the third and fourth incidents like this out of over 100 scheduled interviews. I've had several other occurrences where the hosts contacted me in advance to cancel and reschedule. As for myself, I have only cancelled and re-scheduled one appearance, and that was due to my invitation to be on Coast to Coast AM (who wouldn't!). I have no control over these kinds of happenings, and canprovide no explanation as to why. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Finally, do you like the color scheme changes to my website? Please comment and let us know.
