_ Well folks, here we go again. CERN has run another test on their neutrinos with a more concentrated beam to satisfy one of the numerous objections from the scientific community. They report that the results were the same. Of course, this was reported prominently in the news once again because of the sensationalism it provides. 

There are numerous variables and other issues to be considered. First, have you noticed that none of these reports from the mainstream press ever mention exactly how they calculated the distance between the sending and receiving points? Remember that these positions are underground, making the relative distance between the two points almost impossible to ascertain with the kind of precision needed to confirm such measurements. Recall too that the path taken by these neutrinos is through solid rock, and so the distance cannot be verified by comparing it to the travel time of other particles projected along the identical path. The best GPS positioning could still be off by as much as several meters vertically, which would make a huge difference over 474 miles, which is the distance in question. Other factors like weather conditions can also affect GPS accuracy. And yes, orbital variations can also contribute. One could try to triangulate from a measurement across the surface, but the earth is not a perfect sphere, and you’d have to account for every minor local protuberance in the topology.

The report sites a speed of 60 nanoseconds faster than a photon (particle of light) would travel the same distance. A nanosecond is one billionth of a second. If the distance were precisely 474 miles, at the speed light we’d only need a variation of 58 feet to get the variance in question. That’s only one-hundredth of a mile, or .01%. To put it another way, that would be only 58 feet out of 2,502,720 feet (474 miles). There seems to be no way to nail this down precisely without an identical conduit through which photons could be fired for comparison, which is what they’re proposing. However, it’s unclear how they would be able to bore through the solid rock to precisely duplicate the path these neutrinos are traveling.
 
There are other issues involved that call these findings into question. Unlike Newton’s laws that were increasingly called into question as more and more experiments with energy gave rise to anomalous observations that contradicted his model, Einstein’s model of the universe with its top-end light speed has been verified over and over again, sometimes in remarkable and unexpected ways. Many formulas have been derived from relativity that correlate perfectly with real-world observations. Were these neutrinos actually proved to be traveling faster than like, then we’d have to accept that we’ve been using these “defective” equations all this time, and yet they still magically give us the correct answers! This is why the vast majority of the scientific community expect there’s something wrong with the experiment. 

Next there is the motivational factor, which I think we’d be foolish not to consider. CERN convinced many nations to contribute funding for the Large Hadron Collider with the promise they’d find elusive particles like the Higg’s boson that could pave the way for new and fantastic technology. Now that they’re losing hope in finding these, how do they get nations to commit more funding for similar future projects in these troubled economic times after laying this huge egg? How do all those physicists keep their jobs? What if they were to uncover a sensational finding that would refute Einstein and hold out the promise for incredible results like time travel? Now they need more funding to lay a 474-mile conduit through solid rock across territorial boundaries. Think it can’t happen? Think again. Virtually every qualified scientific authority agrees that it was very irresponsible for CERN to publicly announce the results of their experiment before it could be reproduced and corroborated by other labs. So why did they violate normal and accepted scientific procedures by this announcement? You tell me.    

_ Wednesday’s interview with GeorgeAnn Hughes of the Byte Show was posted shortly after the recording. Go to http://www.thebyteshow.com/Guests.html and look for my name and the book title in the list. This is a small mp3 file that can be played by clicking on it, although my browser required Apple QuickTime to do it. Rather than install it, what I did was right-clicked and selected Save As (or Save Link As) and then selected a location on my hard drive. Once saved, you can double-click to play it Windows Media Player or just about any other player you may have installed. The next installment will be recorded next Wednesday. I believe this will be a three-part series. She will eventually post a category under my name on Audio Library page where all my interviews will be posted.

_ I will be the guest of GeorgeAnn Hughes on The Byte Show where we will be doing a series of interviews on the book. I’m particularly excited about this opportunity, not only because the show has many listeners both here and abroad, but also because it is a forum where I can expand on the Biblical aspects of my work more thoroughly. She has had many guests who are well known in their respective fields. The website is www.thebyteshow.com. All interviews are pre-recorded and then posted as mp3 files for download (there are no live broadcasts). Upon entering into the main site from the first page, you’ll see a navigation bar at the top that has links for Audio Library and Guests. Interviews are posted both under the guests’ names and chronologically respectively. I don’t know when the interview will be posted, but as soon as it is, I will let you know here. 

I have a live interview with Charlotte Kosa on California Haunts Radio on November 30 at 9:30 PM Eastern, 6:30 PM Pacific. Go to http://www.californiahaunts.org/radio.html and you will find the player on the left, as well as a number to call-in live. There is also a link to the blogtalkradio site where this and past episodes can be heard. I understand this will be up to a two-hour show.

The next booking is from “down under” in Australia with Mysterious Universe. This is a podcast, and so I do not believe it will be live. The one-hour interview is scheduled for Monday, December 12 at 7:30 PM Eastern, and should be posted at www.mysteriousuniverse.org/category/podcasts/ shortly thereafter. Click on the episode name, then click the play arrow at the top of the post. My hope is two-fold: first, that we don’t have a communication issue because of accents, and second, that it’s not on my nickel! 

Next is the Kate Valentine Show, that will air live on Friday, December 16 at 1:00 PM Eastern. This is a one hour program, and can be accessed live at http://www.atlanticcoastufos.com/ (look for the Listen Live link). This will be an interesting interview, as it my first with a program devoted almost exclusively to UFOs and ufology, and that with a recognized personality in that field. While the significance of my work with relation to this field of study is obvious, my lack of exposure to this community leaves me uncertain as to the points that will be of most interest. So I welcome the opportunity to present my theories to them, and am looking toward leading questions from the host for guidance.  

For the New Year, there’s a one-hour live interview with Dr. John DeSalvo on his Mysterious Realms Radio program on Tuesday, January 3 at 4:00 PM. Dr. DeSalvo is Director of the Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association, has his doctorate in biophysics, and has been involved with the research on the Shroud of Turin. He has authored a number of books and has been a guest on Coast to Coast AM. His interests span many subjects including Egyptology, alternative medicine, alternative scientific theories and psychic phenomena. I regret that this is only a one-hour show, as I would really welcome an in-depth conversation with this man. My hope is that I might be invited back for subsequent appearances.

_I will be the guest of radio personality James A. Jancik on his Feet to the Fire Radio Program (F2F). The four-hour show airs on Sundays, 7PM to 11PM Central (8PM to 12AM Eastern). I will be appearing on the November 20 broadcast starting at the second hour (8PM Eastern, 7PM Central) until the end of the show. Mr. Jancik has been in broadcasting for a number of years, and is one of the more recognized alternative news services. You’ll notice that his subtitle reads, “The Sciences, The Spiritual, The Paranormal,” so I anticipate a receptive audience. He has graciously allotted me a three-hour time slot, which is very generous for a first time guest, and for which I am very thankful. This is a rare opportunity to really delve into some of the more detailed aspects of the book that most programming schedule limitations do not normally permit.

_ I am going to be the guest of Dave Jones on his Para-X Show on the Para-X Radio Network this Sunday, November 13, at 8PM EST. This is a live, two-hour broadcast with a 15-minute pre-recorded segment featuring Rosemary Guiley at 9-9:15PM. 

To listen live, go to http://www.para-x-radio.com/. You will see a tiny media player at the upper right corner of the page in the heading banner. Click on the link “POP OUT PLAYER” beneath the player to activate it and listen. The show is also recorded and can be downloaded afterward via the “On Demand” link in the navigation bar, where it will be listed alphabetically along with all other shows airing on that network. However, it requires scrolling down a long list and knowing exactly what to look for. So I would urge you to take the opportunity to listen live at the above time and date if possible.

You may notice that this program is scheduled to air in the exact date and time slot as my interview on the Paranormal Science program with Mark Keyes of the PPA (see previous blog post below dated 10-28-11). However, I reasoned that since both normally broadcast in this same time slot, the live audience will be two entirely different groups of listeners, so in a practical sense, there is no conflict (besides, a guest cannot always choose the scheduling, and I’m grateful for every opportunity). The PPA show will be posted for later listening after the broadcast. Go to http://media.wilknewsradio.com/paranormal-science.htm  and select the show from the list and click on the title, which will bring up the player that will automatically play the broadcast for you. You can also download the program on that same page for later listening if you like. This is an important show, so don’t miss it!

_ If you recall, a recent report from CERN claimed they had clocked neutrinos traveling faster than light. Many in the science community maintained that this was some sort of a mistake, and I agreed. The only reason why all the news media carried the story was because it was sensational, disruptive, suggested things fantastic like time travel, and threw stones at a public icon like Einstein—all the things today’s press delights in. At the time, I felt the anomaly was due to a miscalculation of the physical distance involved. Because the path of the neutrinos was straight and not over the curvature of the earth, part of this route was through solid rock, which made it impossible to absolutely test the precise distance as they could have done if they were able to compare it with a stream of photons shot between the same two points (which cannot move through solid rock).

As it turns out, this supposition was correct. The only way the precise distance between the two locations could be calculated was by GPS satellite. Guess what? They forgot to calculate the deviation in the satellite’s orbit during the transit of the particles. Once again, as has been the case time after time, Einstein has been vindicated. This is actually a quite blatant and embarrassingly elementary oversight to be committed by professionals who are supposed to be among the world’s most qualified (yikes!). 

 
Of course, as I mentioned, this follow-up report did not makes the headlines because there was nothing to sensationalize and no famous figure to discredit. You had to go and dig for it on the back pages. But what’s really a shame is the ever-increasing evidence that we can no longer trust out of hand the integrity of scientific sources or the press as we did in times past.
